Internships for Medical Students
Christ Community Ministries partners with Christ Community Health Services and the University of Tennessee Health Sciences to provide 2-6 week internships for medical students and residents. Students and residents are housed at the Hebron House in Binghampton (2485 Yale Ave).
Residents spend a half day (8:30am-1:30pm) rounding with physicians at Christ Community Health Services. The second half of the day (2:30pm-5:00pm) is spent in discipleship and community involvement. Our goal is to introduce you to an incarnational approach to urban ministry.
The following is a schedule of afternoon activities:
Mondays and Fridays: Volunteering at Urban Farms located at 198 Wills St.
Tuesdays: Discipleship Meetings with Nathan Cook at 2595 Central Ave.
Wednesdays and Thursdays: Tutoring Refugee Students with the Refugee Empowerment Program, located at 258 North Merton.
Students and residents are also encouraged to participate in a community house church while they are here.
